Makeup your mind: The Perfect Red Lips

Hi everyone,

        For my first beauty post I decided to show you how to create the perfect red lips for summer. I know that many girls feel embarrassed to wear a bold colour on their lips during the school year (myself included), but during the summer you are free to rock that bold lipstick and go wild with all sorts of different colours. However, today I am focusing on RED. I am going to show you how to easily create "The Perfect Red Lips" that everyone will be talking about for days.
          Before I get into it I would like to apologise for the quality of some of the pictures but I did the photos in a rush and I didn't really have time to set the lighting, etc. I will try to make it better next time. So, let's get started.....

I. Products- These are the products I used to create my red lips, but you can use whatever similar products you have at home.
1. AVON Care Protecting Lip Balm with Shea Butter and Almond Oil
2. Golden Rose Lipliner No. 228
3. This is a set of lipsticks which I got at a local store mainly because I thought that their packaging was super cute (when it closes it looks like a strawberry). But you basically just need a bright red lipstick.
4. Golden Rose Liquid Concealer No. 01
5. Optional: AVON tri-lip gloss in the shade "Onyx Lustre"

Again, you don't have to use the same products I have used. You just have to find:
  - a lipbalm that you like;
  - a lipliner in a red shade (it could be darker than mine);
  - any red lipstick (preferably red);
  - a concealer in your shade;
  - a dark red lipgloss;

II. Steps: Here are the four steps in photos (again I apologise for the bad quality) and I am quickly going to explain what each one means:

1. So, the first thing you have to do is to prepare your lips by applying lipbalm. This way they will be soft and the colour will go on more evenly and easily.
2. The second thing you have to do is line your lips with a red lipliner. Here you can also reshape your lips: making them bigger or smaller, depending on what you want to achieve in the end. After you have lined them, go ahead and fill them in evenly.
3. Now comes the main part. With a lipbrush, or if you feel confident straight with the lipstick, start applying you red lipstick. Mine is buildable, so I decided to stop when I felt comfortable with the colour - you should do the same. If you want you can go all the way with an even brighter lip- it's a matter of choice.
4. After you have got your lips in the colour that you want them to, take a concealer (preferably liquid) and go around the edges of your lips to erase any excess lip products. Blend any harsh lines carefully. If you want you can add some dark red lipgloss in the centre of your lips. It will give more depth and definition to your lips while taking away the dry feel of the lipstick.

     Well, this is how easy it is to create "The Perfect Red Lips". I hope you liked it and if try out this look, please leave a coment and share your recreations.

xoxo,
     HriS
